I travelled solo threw south of india: goa, hampi, marari, allepey, munnar and thekkady (peryar) in december 2018 . I chose the south because it is known for being a little more safe, little easyer to travel, than the north. It was chaotic, crazy, beautiful, heartwarming and just an overall sensation for all your sences. As a femal solo traveller it is very much advised to really prepare well, look into the culture, traditions and beliefs, behavioral norms, do' s and dont's, dress etiquettes, ways for travel etc. A lonely planet is a must when travelling here solo, especially when its your first time. India will take you on the ride of your life. When you dress and act appropriately, and remain aware, india (in my experience) will welcome you and carry you. I was a little scared to go at first. I sure did my homework. But as soon as i arrived the right people and circumstances just came to me. Ofcourse, as it is india, little things also went wrong. Just keep your heas cool, trust, be creative and go with the flow. India and its many colours will leave a deep impression on you for sure.
